Ear Piercings FAQ in Orlando, FL

What happens if I take my earring out if it’s infected?

If a new piercing is infected, it is best not to remove the earring. Removing the piercing can allow the wound to close, trapping the infection within the skin. For this reason, it is advisable not to remove an earring from an infected ear unless advised by a doctor or professional piercer.

Why do my ears get infected when I wear earrings?

If the earrings are on too tightly, not allowing room for the wound to breathe and heal, an infection can develop. A piercing can also get infected if there’s too much handling of the piercing or the post of the earring is rough.

Why do earring holes smell?

Dead cells mix with sebum to create an awful smell. Sebum is an oily substance created by the sebaceous glands which make the skin waterproof. When an earring hole hasn’t been cleaned properly, the sebum will mix with the dead cells caused by the pierced skin to create a gross smell.

What piercings dont reject?

By comparison, a non-surface piercing such as an earlobe, ear cartilage, lip or tongue do not reject as they pierce all the way through from one side to the other.

What age is best to pierce ears?

There is really no specific recommendation for getting your baby’s ears pierced. It depends on what you want for your child. You can consult with your pediatrician on whether to pierce your baby’s ears, but many recommend that your baby is at least three months old.

What do ear piercings help with?

The piercing associated with the inside corner of your ear helps relieve any chronic pain, such as the spinal and lower back. It is one of the more intense ear piercings to get, but many people get it done nowadays for its benefits. Some have even reported it helps aid indigestion.

What should I wear after getting my ears pierced?

However, we recommend only wearing small or light stud earrings for your first piercing. For one thing, small studs are much less likely to catch on things and get ripped out. They’re also more comfortable to sleep in (which is important when your piercing is still healing).

What is the gunk in my ear piercing?

If you’ve had an ear or nose cartilage piercing, small lumps can sometimes form around the piercing. The lumps, called granulomas, are trapped fluid. You can treat them by soaking a pad in warm water then holding the pad against them once a day.

Is it better to get your helix pierced with a gun or needle?

How should ear cartilage be pierced? ‘Cartilage should always be pierced with a needle. A piercing gun isn’t designed for cartilage, only soft tissue and even then I wouldn’t recommend it. Piercing cartilage with a gun can create hardcore hypertrophic scarring and even blow it up.

What piercing is most popular?

Lobe Piercings. Cartilage (Helix) Piercings. Nose Piercings. Daith Piercings. Conch Piercings. Tragus Piercings. Rook Piercings. Navel (Belly Button) Piercings.

Should ear piercing hurts after 3 days?
